Dayle McLeod (Jenny in “Vessel”) has written her first book, a memoir titled: “THE BIG DREAM: My Terrifyingly Beautiful Shamanic Initiation into the Arts”. After drinking the hallucinogen ayahuasca in Ojai, California on the winter solstice of 2014, McLeod found herself trapped in a dream realm. For forty days, she lived in a land of epic visions where she was initiated into the Illuminati and sent on a doomsday mission to collect the seven chakra jewels of the Earth. She was guided back to normalcy by a Native American Jungian psychologist, and that journey is what the book is mostly about. THE BIG DREAM is available in Paperback and Kindle formats.
McLeod appears briefly as Nathan’s friend Shyliegh in Episode 4.12 of KIM’S CONVENIENCE (titled “Knife Strife”) in which Umma (Jean Yoon) learns about a recent unsolved crime in the neighbourhood and believes she knows something about it, but doesn’t want to say how she knows, and Shannon (Nicole Power) hosts the Branch Managers Annual General Meeting. Season 4 of KIM’S CONVENIENCE can be streamed on CBC Gem in Canada, and on Netflix in the US. Continue reading →
Pippin somehow survived the explosion that was thought to have killed him in Episode 4.9, and Zeph finds him in one of the four cocoons on The Lady’s ship. (Actually, Lucy locates him when she scans The Lady’s ship, but doesn’t ID him specifically at the time.) When Zeph is understandably quite suspicious of his resurrection, Pip tells her: “You could just relax, chill with all the science stuff for one minute, and celebrate with me, ’cause, yay, I’m not dead.” He might at the same time be admonishing viewers to put away scientific quibbles and just enjoy the happy endings. Kim Roberts as Ginny and Maria Nash as her daughter Luvaya. Those two folks on the left in the background look very familiar.
On Qresh, there are families who rule (nine of them) and there are families who serve. The Robbels are among the serving clans. but in exchange for arms to fight The Lady, Kendry promises them a seat at the Council of Nine, which should turn it into the Council of Ten (unless someone else gets bumped out). Aneela hasn’t revealed herself as the heir to the Kin Rit lands because the time isn’t right and “things might get stabby”, but when she does reveal herself, that will bring the total number of ruling families to eleven. (The Kin Rits, according to Aneela, were the original ruling family, and chose the other nine.)
Have the Kin Rit lands been abandoned since Khlyen’s departure? If not, who’s acting as caretaker there? Also, if Kendry and Aneela marry, does it unify the two families, and would that mean they have only one vote on the council? Continue reading →
