Ben’s dream, with a bright yellow and white colour scheme featuring sunflowers.
Robb Wellens (Deniz Akdeniz) arrives in Bristol Cove with a recording of his tribe’s echo chamber (where the songs of his ancestors are stored), and it is used first to bring Xander (Ian Verdun) out of a coma, and then to cure all other surviving victim of Tia’s song. (It seems that neither the song nor the cure for it requires any sort of high quality sound equipment to be effective.) Xander wakes up and immediately takes charge of things. (The cure must actually repair brain damage caused by the song, rather than just stopping it from progressing further.) He and Deputy Staub (Tammy Gillis) lead the hybrid volunteers, who are immune to the effects of the song, in the search for more victims. Continue reading →
After losing a battle with the Alaskan tribe, Tia (Tiffany Lonsdale) and Hunter (Katie Keough) make their way to Dunay, a small town near Vladivostok in Russia. “We are here to make allies in this half of the world,” Tia tells Hunter. Then they see a news report about an attack in Ternopil, Ukraine in which Tia’s song (which she no longer can sing) is used as a weapon to kill several office workers. (Ternopil is a university town, and in no way a military target.) When Tia realizes that the Russians have weaponized her song, she goes to Vladivostok, looks up the guy who helped her escape, kills him, and steals back her weaponized song. (Tia is not as bright as Ryn had given her credit for. She needed a prompt from the Russians to realize the Song’s destructive potential.) Continue reading →
Calvin (Curtis Lum) tries to decide on a suit to wear to his wedding
Calvin (Curtis Lum) gets his best man Xander (Ian Verdun) to help him pick out a wedding suit. He also talks Xander into getting the event permit. Janine (Hannah Levien), who does not appear in either of these episodes, wants the wedding’s theme to be “beachy elegance”. It looks as though Janine and Calvin will get married sometime in the last three episodes of this season, unless the mermaid wars intervene. Calvin describes his suit of choice as: “light Gray linen, classic cut, notch lapel, center vent.”
Helen (Rena Owen) is being haunted by the ghost of Ryn’s sister Donna (Sibongile Mlambo). Helen contacted the aquatic spirit world using psychotropic drugs a few episodes back because she wanted to speak to Sarge (Hugo Ateo) who was killed during the mission to sabotage an oil drilling rig (Episode 2.8).
