Helen (Rena Owen) is the last surviving descendant of Charles Pownall and his significant mermaid. Helen explains this shortly before Donna is laid to rest in a well-hidden graveyard, alongside the rest of the aquatic side of the Pownall family. Helen says that she is one-eighth mermaid, and that would make her Charles’ great-granddaughter, so Pownall’s daughter and at least one of his grandchildren must be buried in that cemetery with Donna. There are four tombstones visible when we first see the place, so either there were siblings who did not reproduce, or some humans (possibly husbands or wives) are buried in that place as well. Zoie Palmer will host the Around the World Benefit Event on 4 March at the Carlu in Toronto. The event will feature performances by Ballet Creole’s Tapistry performance group. All profits from the Around the World benefit will go to programs supported by HelpAge Canada, a non-profit organization that works to improve and maintain the quality of life of vulnerable and isolated older persons in Canada and around the world.

Tammy Gillis (Marissa in Table for Fae will be Marie Anderson in THE PINOCCHIO PROJECT, a science fiction film being shot in Vancouver about a scientist who invents a technology to pinpoint and recreate specific memories, and has ambitions to use it to cure memory based cognitive disorders. No release date yet.
Jadyn Wong (Dao Ming in LOST GIRL 4.9) has an unspecified role in the film DEBUG, due out later in 2014. Sidney Leeder (Kasey the Kitsune) is also in the cast. Wong will be Molly in CRIMINAL SEDUCTION, a new made-for-TV film by director Penelope Buitenhuis, which stars Ally Sheedy, and is set in Ohio, but was shot in the Toronto area.

Rachel Skarsten will be Jessa in the Hallmark TV movie IN MY DREAMS, which will air on ABC on 11 May (Mothers’ Day), and is a romantic comedy involving wishing wells. Skarsten will not be going to the Gold Coast SUPANOVA (4-6 April). Emmanuelle Vaugier will take her place as a guest at the event.
