Alone on the island for 23 days, Scarlett constructs an imaginary friend and names it Wilson. In Episode 4.10 of MOTIVE, Peregrym was Jessica Wilson. Jessica murdered her older sister.
After twenty-three days on the island, Scarlett, unable to build a functional raft, discovers an inflatable life raft under her bed and makes it to the mainland. Sometime previous to that (it is about 80 kilometers from Denver to Loveland so the travel time between the two is much shorter than 23 days), Phil (Vincent Gale) and Joline (Caroline Cave) escape the prison bus taking them to Loveland. An organized manhunt is launched to recapture the prisoners (though Denver has been attacked and occupied by The Sisterhood, and one would think the surviving humans there would have better things to do). Vanessa spends most of the episode in the body of her great-grandmother Lilly Van Helsing who has just arrived in 1896 Hong Kong by steamship with her maidservant Siobhan (Siobhan Williams) and her husband Edward Hawkins (Adrian Hough). Edward has traveled there for business purposes, and is to meet with the head of the East Asia Trading Company. Lily meets with Agnes, the wife (?) of the colony’s Governor, whose maiden name is Seward. “My father”, Agnes says, “was a faithful servant to your grandfather Abraham.” Vanessa learns that vampire activity is suspected in the area, and Agnes gives Lily/Vanessa the address of Mr. Tsui (Lee Shorten), a shopkeeper who knows about vampires, and has “ominous and important things” to share with her. They do not succeed, and Waverly sends Nicole to the barn to get Wynonna’s B&E kit, but Wynonna and Doc are in the barn imagining that they’re having sex. (They are really engaging in wishful thinking while under the influence of hallucinogenic spores blown at them by Bulshar at the end of Episode 3.8. Kate left town at the end that episode, and it seems that Wynonna was more upset at Doc for sleeping with Kate, than for becoming a vampire.) Continue reading →
