Miller, or something that looks like Miller, has been appearing to Holden (though it is not visible to cameras, or to other people). Holden runs multiple brain scans and tests himself for protomolecule contamination, all with negative results. Then he notices that Miller’s appearance happened at exactly the same time that Manéo Jung-Espinoza crashed into the ring, and he accepts that Miller is, at least in some sense, real. Let’s look at four bits of conversation between Miller and Holden, and see if we can figure out some stuff.
MILLER:“It’s those damn doors and corners. I mean, that’s where they get you. You don’t walk into the middle of a crime scene without knowing there’s not somebody there to put you down. Paul Amos (Vex in 24 LOST GIRL episodes) is Wren in DARKEN, a fantasy set in a violent prison-like world ruled by a self-appointed religious despot in the name of a god called Mother Darken. When Eve (Bea Santos) is inadvertently drawn into this dangerous place, she must ally herself with the rebels if she is to have any hope of escaping. Rob Archer (Bruce in six LG episodes) appears in the film as The Bard. DARKEN, which will also be a digital series, will screen 26 November at 7pm at the Blood In The Snow Film Festival at the Royal Cinema, 608 College St. in Toronto.
And Amos will be Oberon in a production of A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM by The Checkov Collective (formed in 2014 by an ensemble of actors to explore classic plays using the techniques of Michael Chekhov). The play will run from 21 February to 11 March at The Citadel in Toronto. Continue reading →
