Tim Rozon, Kat Barrell, Craig Stein, Luke Newton, and Sai Bennett in the 2018 SyFy movie LAKE PLACID: LEGACY, which also was filmed in South Africa
Tim Rozon (Doc Holliday) will be Isaac in the upcoming SyFy series VAGRANT QUEEN, that will star Adriyan Rae as Elida, a child queen driven from her throne at the age of ten and forced to wander the galaxy, pursued by revolutionaries who want her dead. The series is based on the graphic novel by Magdalene Visaggio. In the book, Elida’s family held power because centuries ago they invented a brainwashing device that was used to convince the people that they were gods. Isaac is an old friend of Elida’s and he persuades her that she must return to the heart of her former kingdom and rescue her mother, who (Isaac tells her) is imprisoned in a monastery.
VAGRANT QUEEN will be written and directed entirely by women. The first two writers on board are Mika Collins and Mariko Tamaki. Showrunner Gem Garrard and Danishka Esterhazy are the first two named directors. Production will begin in July in Cape Town, South Africa, and the ten-episode series will premiere on SyFy sometime in 2020.
