Pree (Thom Allison) carries Zeph twenty miles across the badlands
John’s efforts to locate The Lady’s real body have the unexpected side effect of resurrecting Lucy (Tamsen McDonough) with all her memories intact. Once awakened, Lucy is able to rescue Fancy Lee (Sean Baek) from captivity, and in the process of his escape he stumbles on four large cocoons, the suggestion being that they contain The Lady’s real body, which means that The Lady might be some sort of ruling council rather than a single individual, or that her body might be stored in separate segments.
Zeph (Kelly McCormack) and Pree (Thom Allison) set out into the badlands on foot to escape The Lady’s death squads (which look a lot like the Jawa from STAR WARS). Pree must be in really good physical condition, because, when Zeph can’t walk any further, he carries her on his back the rest of the way to Turin’s safe house, a distance he estimates at twenty miles. Let’s look at four bits of conversation between Miller and Holden, and see if we can figure out some stuff.
MILLER:“It’s those damn doors and corners. I mean, that’s where they get you. You don’t walk into the middle of a crime scene without knowing there’s not somebody there to put you down. It’s the thing you don’t see coming. That’s what it is.” HOLDEN:“What’s with the hat?” MILLER:“Keeps the rain off my head.”Continue reading →
