Malcolm Ward's Wyoming drivers license. (Click for larger version)
Mike Colter as Malcolm Ward. Ward has disappeared and may be dead.
RINGER, starring Sarah Michelle Gellar, has the most interesting habit of providing attentive viewers with lovely bits of trivia, often only in visuals. For instance, in Episode 18 which aired on 20 March we got a look at the drivers licence of Malcolm Ward. Now we now he was born 7 February 1980, is 6’3″ tall (290.5cm) and that on 10 September 2010 when the licence was issued he weighed 208 lbs (94.3kg). Also, in Wyoming, Restriction “B” means that he must wear corrective lenses. Since he has never worn glasses on the show, it is a reasonable assumption that the character wears contact lenses.
Mike Colter, who plays Malcolm, is 6’3″. His weight fluctuates from role to role. For MILLION DOLLAR BABY, he put on 15 pounds.
It seems that Malcolm may be dead, but no body has been found. Killing off the character would simplify Bridget Kelly’s life a bit.
Bridget (Sarah Michelle Gellar) and Malcolm (Mike Colter) find a note in Charlie’s apartment. It says “Siobhan, pivoine 419”. Pivoine is French for peony. 419 is either a Paris telephone exchange or the area code for Toledo, Ohio.
In Paris there is both a Chinese restaurant and a Vietnamese restaurant named Pivoine. The term is also attached to a classical Chinese Opera, THE PEONY PAVILION, which centers on the love story of Liu Meng-mei (Willow Dreaming Plum), a young student, and Tu Li-niang, the daughter of a high official in southern Kiangsi. It is a long play, with 55 scenes.
Pivoine is also a musical duo, Lulu-Pivu & Uku-Kéké, and a solo chanteuse, Ludiane Pivoine (see video below).

Note by Charlie on back of envelope – found by Bridget at end of Episode 10
Tyler (Justin Breuning) is more than a bit surprised to find that the woman with whom he is having regular sex is apparently the wife of his boss.
Zoey Deutch and Jason Dohring - body language
Justin Bruening is Tyler Barrett on RINGER. I’m still not quite sure what Tyler does for a living, except that it involves international banking and his boss is Andrew Martin (Ioan Gruffudd). Tyler gets the nod for RINGER’s moment of the week for his reaction to finding himself at table with Shivette (Bridget pretending to be Siobhan) and Andrew.
Juliet (Zoey Deutch) was busy this week. She reacts interestingly to Shivette’s miscarriage. “Does it hurt?”, she asks, and hugs her stepmother and brings her tea. (!) Her relationship with Mr. Carpenter develops a bit. Jason Dohring’s character does not yet have a first name, indicating that we may be seeing him through Juliet’s eyes. Juliet gets transferred out of Carpenter’s class, but joins the Good Samaritan Club to maintain contact with him.
Jaime Murray looking Lily Tomlin-ish
Olivia Charles (Jaime Murray) is back with a lower neckline, and looking a bit like Lily Tomlin, although not at all funny.
And, finally, Michael Colter got to do something in the series beside get beat up. His character, Malcolm Ward, is in New York, and needing to get off heroin again after having been shot up with the stuff by Macawi.
