In the opening scene, Waverly and Nicole seem to be having sex, but then the camera retreats and we see that they’re really just trying to get what they think is Bulshar’s ring off of Waverly’s finger. They do not succeed, and Waverly sends Nicole to the barn to get Wynonna’s B&E kit, but Wynonna and Doc are in the barn imagining that they’re having sex. (They are really engaging in wishful thinking while under the influence of hallucinogenic spores blown at them by Bulshar at the end of Episode 3.8. Kate left town at the end that episode, and it seems that Wynonna was more upset at Doc for sleeping with Kate, than for becoming a vampire.) Continue reading →
Wynonna meets Charlie (Sebastian Pigott), who is with the Purgatory Volunteer Fire Department, which once was run by a bunch of demon hunting monks entrusted with protecting the seals that imprisoned Bulshar. The monks were incinerated by Dolls in “I Hope You Dance“.
Charlie never gives his last name, knows stuff about trees, and helps Wynonna rescue members of the founding families of Purgatory from the clutches of Bulshar. After establishing to her satisfaction that he is neither a revenant nor a demon, Wynonna has sex with Charlie in the firetruck. Continue reading →
Jolene (Zoie Palmer) is a demon in disguise. Her charmed (or possibly drugged) baked goods make those who eat them see her as a trusted, long-time friend. (She is the opposite of that.) “I was born at the exact same time as you,” she tells Waverly. “The universe craves balance, and you came and arrived out of the light. And I, I crawled out of the muck. Everything good was given to you. Freedom, flaxen hair, family. And what did I get? Shunned, starved, reviled.” (Note the use of the word “born”, which might indicate that she did not just magically appear.) Waverly asks if they were twins, and Jolene responds: “Yes, In a sick sense.”Continue reading →
