LOST GIRL – Season 3 Episode 10 – SPOILERS
Acacia (Linda Hamilton) and Tamsin (Rachel Skarsten) talk of Tecumseh and Canadian victories in the War of 1812
The not terribly important main story line deals with the capture of a Tikbalang (a Jersey Devil-like creature of the Phillipines played by Kerry Laifatt) and her accomplice Matt (Craig Arnold).
Message from Odin
– Acacia’s hand arrives in a box
What is important is that Acacia (Linda Hamilton) shows up and reminisces with Tamsin about Canadian victories in the War of 1812, and encourages Tamsin to bring in her assigned target. Tamsin, it seems, should have brought Bo in some time ago, and Odin is displeased. Tamsin is given a container made of rune glass and told to get one hair from someone Bo loves, two hairs from someone Bo trusts, and three hairs from Bo. Once the hairs are placed in the container, Bo (Tamsin is told) should be putty in her hands. The Valkyrie at first refuses, but when a package arrives with Acacia’s severed hand inside, Tamsin decides she must cooperate. She collects the necessary hairs and places them in the bottle. Acacia’s employer is not named, but Valkyries (in Norse myth) reported to Odin.
Acacia (Linda Hamilton) attempts to persuade Tamsin to do her job
Odin (I have been reminded) is referred to in the Prose Edda as The Wanderer. He is also in charge of the Valkyries. Some think the god Odin developed from an eight-legged horse deity originally called Echwaz but later stories separated Odin from from the horse making them two different entities and calling the horse Sleipner. So that engraving of the winged and hooved creature that Trick dug out of storage at the end of THE CEREMONY may have been Odin’s horse. (Sleipner was sometimes depicted with only four legs.) Celtic and Germanic myths do run together a bit, so the connection with the Druids is not too much of a stretch.

If Odin is Bo’s father, he must have evil plans for her, or else Tamsin would not be so reluctant to bring Bo and Odin together.
THINGS WE FIND OUT:
After her Dawning, Bo seems to have adopted the softball bat as her weapon of choice. Bo was a camp counselor during her teen years, and may have developed softball prowess while doing that. Tamsin (Rachel Skarsten) apparently drives an old pickup truck of indeterminate make and model. (Valkyries are supposed to ride flying horses. I would have expected Tamsin to drive something akin to a Mustang.) And Lauren knows how to make a pipe bomb. (Perhaps she was not in Afganistan as a medic.)
Lauren has three scenes with three different actors and each not only revealed much about Lauren, but also are revealing of Tamsin, Dyson, and Bo.
An angry Lauren slaps Tamsin.
In the first of them, Lauren finds out that Tamsin and Bo kissed (see Fae-ge Against the Machine). Lauren slaps Tamsin, tells her to “get out”, and without another word makes everyone in the audience remember the last time they were staggered by what they were unwilling to believe.
Bo subdues Lauren’s attacker with the aid of a softball bat.
In the second, Lauren tells Bo that she needs a break from their relationship, and explains why: “It’s just I’m so tired, Bo. These last few years with the Fae, the Garuda and Nadia, I feel like I’m losing myself.”
In the third, she commiserates with Dyson at the Dál. Dyson’s performance here may be his best thus far on LOST GIRL.
LAUREN: Did you know that I thought you were the enemy for a while there? That you were going to swoop in, take her away. Turns out I’ve done a fine job of screwing it up all by myself.

Once Tamsin gets three of Bo’s hairs for the Druidic spell, she leaves. Bo is puzzled and then goes into that bright, blue-eyed mode. Either she realizes that Tamsin was up to no good, and is angry; or, the spell has already kicked in and she is now under the Druids’ spell. Next week’s episode involves witches and I suspect that one of them will warn Bo that she has been bewitched.
Della (Brittany Allen) and her boyfriend Matt (Craig Arnold) making out in the woods at the start of DELINQUENTS. Both become victims of the Tikbalang
Dar Dowling reviewed the film SEX AFTER KIDS (which stars among others Zoie Palmer and Kris Holden-Ried) for the Huffington Post. Here’s part of what Dowling said about Zoie Palmer: " Zoie Palmer’s performance as Lou, a complicated, somewhat damaged single mom, who is paralyzed by self doubts, was stunning. Weaving an irresistible spell that ultimately drew me into Lou’s world until I began to “really” care about her in a way that was unexpected and refreshing."
Brittany Allen (Della) will be Tirra, a troubled employee of the NeedWant (Mia Kirshner’s brothel) on DEFIANCE on SyFy beginning 15 April.
Justin Kelly (Nelson) is Jake Martin in DEGRASSI:THE NEXT GENERATION, and Craig Arnold (Matt Michaels) is Luke Baker in that show. Two other actors from DEGRASSI TNJ were in FAES WIDE SHUT (Miriam McDonald and Damon Runyon).
