Matsui is also Teddy in A SHOE ADDICT’S CHRISTMAS, the story of Noelle (Candace Cameron Bure), who stays late at her job in a department store on a snowy Christmas Eve, and accidentally gets locked in after closing. A strange woman appears out of nowhere in the shoe department, claims to be Nicole’s guardian angel, and shows her visions of Christmases past, present, and future. Masha Lizdek (right) and Olivia Scriven in LOST GIRL episode 5.16
Masa Lizdek (Dagny’s girlfriend in Rise) is Jasmin‘s daughter Sonja in THE WAITING ROOM, a film about an actor (Jasmin) who was once famous in what used to be called Yugoslavia, and who now lives in Toronto with his second wife and young son. Jasmin juggles a construction job and a busy audition schedule, and dreams of re-launching an old televised stage show that had (years ago) brought him success in his homeland. The film’s star, Jasmin Geljo, has a personal history much like that of the character he plays.
Masa Lizdek as Mandy in DARKNET 1
In an interview with Nicole Stamp of Tribute Media, Lizdek called the film a dark comedy, described her character as being a bit bookish, and said that she “speaks a little bit of Croatian, a little bit of English” in the film. THE WAITING ROOM had its North American premiere at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival. Lizdek also revealed that she owns and operates a bed-and-breakfast in Šibenik, Croatia.
Jocelyn Hudon as Victoria, part of the dinner served by Hades in LOST GIRL episode 5.13.
Jocelyn Hudon (Victoria in Family Portrait) will be Nikki in the April Mullen film BELOW HER MOUTH, due to be released sometime in 2016. The film, which has an all-female crew, is about an unexpected affair between two women (played by Natalie Krill and Erika Linder) which quickly escalates into a passionate connection that changes their lives forever. Tommie-Amber Pirie (Bo’s cellmate in Caged Fae) is also in the cast.
Emmanuelle Vaugier stars as Heather Twain, the owner of a Montana dude ranch, in the romantic comedy LOVE IN PARADISE, which will premiere on the Hallmark Channel on 2 January at 9pm (ET/PT). Heather can ride and rope and is disappointed in the Dude Ranch’s latest guest (Luke Perry) – who is a star of Western movies – when she finds out that he can do neither of those things.
Michelle Mylett (the ill-fated Maggy in When God Opens a Window) will be Katy in LETTERKENNY, a 6 episode comedy series scheduled to debut on The Comedy Network and Crave TV on Super Bowl Sunday (7 February 2016). LETTERKENNY is about troubles between rival groups in small town Ontario. There are, apparently, three such groups: The Hicks, the Skids, and the Hockey Players. Mylett plays Katy, who is ‘free-spirited’ and one of the Hicks. Episode one of the series, titled “Ain’t No Reason to Get Excited” was screened at the Canadian International TV Fest last month. The show was filmed in Sudbury, Ontario.
Ennis Esmer (Phillip in Judgement Fae) will be Dave Amari in the TV series YOU ME HER, ten half-hour episodes of which will air next year on DirecTV’s Audience Network. The series is a “polyromantic” comedy about a three party relationship that includes suburban married couple Jack (Greg Poehler) and Emma (Rachel Blanchard). Esmer is also Nash in the ten-episode Amazon series RED OAKS which was released last October.
The first 8 episodes of LOST GIRL Season 5 are now available on iTunes US.
