Naomi Snieckus has launched FIRECRACKER DEPARTMENT, a podcast designed to spotlight women in the entertainment industry. In Episode one, Snieckus interviewed character actor Jayne Eastwood. Her guest for the second episode was Annie Murphy of SCHITT’S CREEK, and, in Episode Three (due out 13 March) she will talk to Tommie-Amber Pirie, who also appeared on LOST GIRL. (Pirie is currently Claire Webb in the CBC drama MICHAEL EVERY DAY.) Snieckus told Steve Gow of Toronto Metro News: “A firecracker is someone who is unabashed, somebody who is unapologetic. They’re bright and loud and bold and they’re all the women that I talk to.” New episodes of FIRECRACKER DEPARTMENT happen every Monday on iTunes.
Tammy Gillis as Claire in John Barnard’s film MENORCA, which will next screen at Cinequest in San Jose on 10 March at 4pm
Tammy Gillis will be Lindsay in TINY HOUSE OF TERROR, which stars Nazneen Contractor and Francia Raisa as two sisters, one of whom (it hasn’t been revealed which yet), sells her large, high-tech house (after the mysterious disappearance of her husband) and buys a smaller place that is definitely low-tech, and in the middle of nowhere. Her new lifestyle quickly becomes life-threatening. TINY HOUSE OF TERROR completed filming in Kelowna, B.C. at the end of February, and should air later this year on Lifetime.
THE ARRANGEMENT premiered on E! on 5 March. (The first episode is free from iTunes.) According to IMDB, Gillis will be Jen in Episodes five and six of that series. Episode five is scheduled to air 2 April at 10pm.
Hannah Anderson, Katie Boland, Hermione Norris, Anna Chancellor, and John Hannah in a scene from LOVE OF MY LIFE
And Gillis also appears in JUST DESERTS, the fifth film in Hallmark’s MURDER SHE BAKED series. Hannah Swensen (Alison Sweeney) is thrilled when she is chosen as a guest for the first Eden Lake Dessert Bake-Off, but when fellow judge, Coach Boyd Watson (Douglas Chapman), is found murdered, Swensen once again takes it upon herself to find the killer. JUST DESERTS will premiere on The Hallmark Channel on 26 March at 9pm.
The latest film by Joan Carr-Wiggin, LOVE OF MY LIFE, is a dark comedy about a woman named Grace (Anna Chancellor) who discovers she might have only five days to live. The film has four LOST GIRL alumni in its cast. Grace’s two daughters are played by Katie Boland (Evony’s assistant in It’s Better to Burn Out Than Fae Away) and Hannah Anderson (Bo’s stepmother in Like Hell Part II). Scott Cavalheiro (Tamsin’s hookup in When God Opens a Window) plays a character called Will, and Naomi Snieckus (the Banshee’s agent in Fae Day) is someone named Lorna. Filmed in Sault Ste. Marie, LOVE OF MY LIFE can be purchased (or rented) on iTunes, but only in the UK.
Ali Liebert does some dimensional tripping and meets herself in the 2016 short film COLLIDER, which is available on YouTube.
Ali Liebert will be Detective Nickole Bilson in TEN DAYS IN THE VALLEY, which is about Jane Sadler (played by Kyra Sedgwick), an overworked television producer and single mother whose young daughter goes missing in the middle of the night. Nickole Bilson is described as “blue collar and plain-spoken”, a tough and experienced detective who often assists on the Sadler case. Written by Tassie Cameron (co-creator of ROOKIE BLUE), the series is currently in production and will premiere on ABC sometime later this year.
Liebert is also Hannah in AUTUMN IN THE VINEYARD, which stars Rachel Leigh Cook and Brendan Penny, and is about a dispute over the ownership of a vineyard that results in romance. The film will next air on The Hallmark Channel 12 March at 1pm.
