RINGER – Season 1 Episode 2 – SPOILERS
Gellar at the cocktail party - Audrey Hepburn elegant
At the cocktail party in the second half of Episode 2, Sarah Michelle Gellar looks Audrey Hepburn elegant. If this were an episode of Buffy, I would have suspected Jaime Murray of being a vampire, but in the context of this show, her character brought back memories of Angelica Huston in Prizzi’s Honor. Ioan Gruffudd is actually in this episode, and has a fair bit of screen time, but he really doesn’t do anything important.
Jaime Murray as Andrew Martin's business partner
Shivette (that is Bridget pretending to be Siobhan) and Juliet (Zoey Deutch) develop a degree of closeness (much to the puzzlement of Juliet) as Bridget identifies with Zoey’s drug problems. Juliet: “I took something someone gave me in a bar. I think it was orange.”
Remember last week when Shivette shot the Man In Black? Well now she needs to get rid of that pesky corpse. She gets points for considering making use of a circular saw left in the loft by workmen, and loses some for ignoring the obvious imperative of getting the bullet out. (She used a gun that can be traced to Bridget, but only if they can find the bullet.)
Juliet (Zoey Deutch) ready to go out
What ensues is the comedy of the corpse. Gemma (Tara Summers) is so preoccupied with her marital difficulties that she takes no notice of a day old body under a tarp six inches from her foot. FBI Agent Machado (Nestor Carbonell) is so busy looking at Shivette, he does not notice the blood leaking from
a corner of the steamer trunk a foot away. That was right after she had get the fat guy (Marcus Folmar) to stop sitting on the trunk, presumably because she feared he might break it (he wasn’t THAT heavy).
And of course she forgot to check the dead guy’s pockets so his cell phone goes off in the middle of Jaime Murray’s speech the subject of which I can’t remember. So Shivette has to fish the phone from the trunk, which is when mysterious crew cut germanic guy walks by in a threatening way.

Siobhan (Gellar) in Paris - quite alive
And Siobhan is alive and well and living (at least temporarily) in Paris. Gellar delivers several lines in impeccable French. There are subtitles for those.
Most interesting guest star in the episode (for me) was John Paul Karilak who wrote and preformed the one act play DONNA/MADONNA. Karilak was the party planner for the aforementioned cocktail party.
The two women at the party with whom Shivette converses at length (and from whom she learns that Siobhan uses botox) are Elizabeth Ann Roberts (Sheila Weaver in WHITE MEN CAN’T DANCE) and Kristen Kerr (Herja in the Asylum version of ALMIGHTY THOR).
Again, I can’t wait for next week.
