Dani Kind (Mercedes Gardner) will be Lucille in TWO DEATHS OF HENRY BAKER, a modern-day western that stars Gil Bellows as Henry Baker, a famous outlaw who is released from prison after 25 years. Old friends and old ememies, including a bearded vagrant with an old bullet scar, a drunken deputy with half an ear missing, and a burned out street hustler with a vendetta, trail Henry to the Belair Bar and Hotel in (fictional) Grey County somewhere in the US. Once there, Baker plans to reunite with his son who has been protecting the gold he stashed away before being jailed. Among others in the cast are Jess Salgueiro (Jackie in I’LL TAKE YOUR DEAD) and Tony Curran (Datak Tarr on DEFIANCE).
Katherine Barrell (Nicole Haught) stars as Mary in MY EX-EX, a romcom coming to AMC Theatres in the US on 9 December. (in the following cities – Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Orlando, Detroit, Denver, Phoenix, Miami and Atlanta). Mary, a successful attorney, is expecting a proposal of marriage from her boyfriend (Ted) but is dumped instead. Her friends take her to see a psychic (played by Luba Goy), who casts a spell to reconnect Mary with her ex-boyfriend. But Mary isn’t specific enough. Instead of being reconnected with Ted, she bumps into her college boyfriend Patrick, and begins to fall for him again. Then Ted realizes his mistake and wants Mary back. Kat Barrell with the cast of WORKIN’ MOMS
Barrell is also Alicia Rutherford in the comedy WORKIN’ MOMS, a TV series that tests the modern ideal that women really can have it all. The show follows the lives of four friends (played by Catherine Reitman, Dani Kind, Juno Rinaldi, and Jessalyn Wanlim) as they try to balance love, careers, and parenthood. WORKIN’ MOMS will premiere on CBC Tuesday 10 January 2017 at 9:30pm, immediately following SCHITT’S CREEK.
Holly Raczynski, who was Melanie Scrofano‘s Season One stunt double, also doubled for Kelly Overton in VAN HELSING’s first season. WYNONNA EARP Season Two will begin filming in Alberta on 12 December, and VAN HELSING starts production in Vancouver sometime in January. It seems unlikely that Raczynski will be able to double for both actors in 2017.

Joris Jarsky (Whiskey Jim Byers) will be Ward Anderson in the mystery/thriller ORDINARY DAYS, a film in three chapters, which tells the story of the disappearance of a young college woman from three different perspectives. Chapter One is titled Marie, and is directed by Jordan Canning. Chapter Two is BrightBill, directed by Kris Booth. Chapter 3 is Cara, and is directed by Renuka Jeyapalan. The screenplay is by Ramona Barkert, who also wrote the WYNONNA EARP episode “Landslide“. ORDINARY DAYS was filmed in Toronto and Janetville, Ontario, and is expected to be released next year.
Shaun Johnston as Reverend Rickman in the crime thriller IN PLAINVIEW
David LeReaney (Judge Cryderman) will be Korolyuk in the crime thriller IN PLAINVIEW, a film about a dirty ex-cop who, when sprung from prison, seeks vengeance on his former partner (who sold him out). Director Matt Watterworth told Jessi Gowan of Rocky View Weekly that the film is a “dark comedy with a mix of action elements, funny moments, and some violence and bloodshed“. Shaun Johnston (WYNONNA EARP’s Juan Carlos) is also in the cast. (He plays a preacher.) Filming wrapped in November in Cochrane, Alberta (just west of Calgary).
