Rachel Skarsten (Eliza in “Steel Bars and Stone Walls“) will be Charlotte Dumaine in the ABC drama pilot FOR LOVE, which will star Lex Scott Davis as Hope Castille, a journalist whose life is disrupted by a phone call from Charlie Lapree (Jon Ecker), her long-dead fiancé. (Five years previously, Lapree took a call while remodeling their apartment and shortly thereafter was found dead after a car accident.) Hope’s current boyfriend is Gabriel Dumaine (played by Ethan Peck – grandson of Gregory Peck). Gabriel wants to be mayor. His family is very powerful, and he is also very much in love with Hope and wants to marry her, even though doing that might put Hope in danger. (The Dumaine family is hiding some dangerous secrets.)
In her mother’s absence, Skarsten’s character Charlotte has been running the Dumaine empire, which maintains control over the magic users in New Orleans, and when Mother Dumaine returns, Charlotte’s position is threatened. It seems reasonable to speculate that Charlie Lapree might have been magically brought back to life to prevent Gabriel’s marriage. Filming of the pilot began in New Orleans on 10 March.
Skarsten will also be Poppy Langmore, sister of Jules Langmore, in the second season of IMPOSTERS. Unlike her sister, Poppy thrives on being one of the rich and privileged. The second season of IMPOSTERS will premiere on 5 April at 10/9c on BravoTV in the US. April Mullen (who directed “Whiskey Lullaby“) directs episodes 2.3 and 2.4. A trailer is available on YouTube.
