Kim Roberts as Ginny and Maria Nash as her daughter Luvaya. Those two folks on the left in the background look very familiar.
On Qresh, there are families who rule (nine of them) and there are families who serve. The Robbels are among the serving clans. but in exchange for arms to fight The Lady, Kendry promises them a seat at the Council of Nine, which should turn it into the Council of Ten (unless someone else gets bumped out). Aneela hasn’t revealed herself as the heir to the Kin Rit lands because the time isn’t right and “things might get stabby”, but when she does reveal herself, that will bring the total number of ruling families to eleven. (The Kin Rits, according to Aneela, were the original ruling family, and chose the other nine.)
Have the Kin Rit lands been abandoned since Khlyen’s departure? If not, who’s acting as caretaker there? Also, if Kendry and Aneela marry, does it unify the two families, and would that mean they have only one vote on the council? Continue reading →
Khlyen (Rob Stewart) and Kendry (Mayko Nguyen) are human now, but Aneela (Hannah John-Kamen) is somehow still Hullen. She was inside a Khlyen Cube during the death of the green, so it is possible that the cube offers a connection to a pool of green in another place far enough away to not have been affected by the spores (see episode 4.10). The Khlyen Cube is probably based on Hullen technology, and up till now we really hadn’t seen it do much. On Arkyn, it worked like an elevator. This time, when Jaq enters the cube, it disappears, but not all at once. The cube’s outline remains visible as it rotates and reduces in apparent size, as though it is tumbling into a multi-dimensional wormhole. Continue reading →
Jaq (Jaeden Noel) and Kendry (Mayko Nguyen) on an unknown planet outside The Quad. One wonders, why the bow and arrows and where did she get them?
Cage fighting and Corin Jeers, two things that were a part of the very first episode of KILLJOYS (Bangarang) are also part of this one. Jeers was the first person to be “locked and served” by Dutch and Johnny on KILLJOYS. In Bangarang, the fight was between D’Avin and John. In this one, Dutch gets entered into a prison fight tournament called the Bellaxion.
Originally ten families controlled Qresh. When Khylen and the Yardeens left Qresh for Arkyn (see Episode 3.7), the family lost all of its lands and power, leaving The Nine to rule. We know the names of the nine familes of Qresh from previous episodes (mostly from Necropolis Now, which was written by Andrew de Angelis, who also wrote this episode). They are: Derrish, Hyponia, Kendry, Lahani, Nenodall, Rinn, Simms, Trus, and Traclus. The Bellaxion is being run by Evi and Sylas of Land Robbel, so either one of the families has been renamed, or there is a new clan on Qresh. Continue reading →
