Kalinka Petrie (Brynn in “Necropolis Now“) will be Jeanne in the horror/comedy LA MALÉDICTION DE JONATHAN PLOURDE, the story of a 23 year-old designer who falls in love four times only to have each of his lovers die suddenly. Convinced that he is cursed, Jonathan (Félix-Antoine Duval) is determined to give up on romance, until a new employee named Jeanne enters his life. With the help of a co-worker who is well-schooled in unexplained phenomena, Jonathan tries to figure out how to have Jeanne in his life without putting her in danger. Petrie told Karine Paradis of Envedette: “The most interesting thing about Jeanne’s character is that she’s the only one who does not know about Jonathan’s supernatural angle…so it was really interesting to play that, because she tries to find rational explanations, real explanations, to explain Jonathan’s bizarre behavior.” LA MALÉDICTION DE JONATHAN PLOURDE premiered on the Canadian French language network Super Écran on 12 November. Episode 4, in which Jonathan has a difficult and emotional discussion with his mother and takes part in a dangerous rebirth session, will air on 3 December at 9pm. A trailer is available on Vimeo. UPDATE (23/11/18) – — Pride, Prejudice, and Mistletoe will air on CITY-TV in Canada on 10 December at 8pm.
Anna Hardwick (Maddy in “Faes Wide Shut“) will be Elizabeth in A PUZZLE TO DIE FOR, which stars Lacey Chabert as a crossword puzzle editor who finds her life completely disrupted when several of the clues in her recent puzzles are linked to unsolved crimes, and she is pulled into the police investigation. She is forced to work with a tough (but charming) police detective (Brennan Elliott), to crack the case and prove her innocence. A PUZZLE TO DIE FOR is the first of a new series of mysteries co-created by Gregg Rossen, Brian Sawyer, and New York Times puzzle editor Will Shortz called THE CROSSWORD MYSTERIES, and will premiere on Hallmark Movies and Mysteries in June, 2019.
Hardwick also has an as yet unspecified role in PRIDE, PREJUDICE, AND MISTLETOE, based on the novel by Melissa de la Cruz (a humourous, gender-swapped retelling of Jane Austen’s story). The film will star Lacey Chabert as Darcy, a successful businesswoman who returns to her hometown for the holidays. She reconnects with an old rival, restaurant owner Luke (Brendan Penny), at her parents’ Christmas party and the two of them are somehow forced to plan a charity event together. (In the book, Luke is an unassuming carpenter.) PRIDE, PREJUDICE, AND MISTLETOE will air on The Hallmark Channel on Friday 23 November at 8/7c. Continue reading →
KILLJOYS- Season 4 Episode 9 – SPOILERS
John and D’Avin leave young Jaq (aka Ozzie) in the care of his mother, who is hiding out on Arkyn in Red 9 (presumably down the block from Red 17), drinking a purple bottle of hokk, and reviewing Khlyen’s research into the nature of The Green. (She knew about the weapon that Khlyen devised to destroy The Lady before D’Avin mentioned it.) Khlyen must have told her how to access Red 9. Delle Seyah is also aware of the locations of Khlyen’s other safe houses in The Quad.
D’Avin, John, and Dutch return to the Armada where Turin (Patrick Garrow) is plotting to retake the RAC and free the kidnapped children being held there (as well as capture the only liquid pool of green in The J). Turin’s plan does not work. Weej and the undercover Killjoys with him are killed when their ship encounters a hitherto undetected biophasic shield. Continue reading →
