Jennifer Cheon Garcia (Ivory) will be Leane Sharif in THE WHEEL OF TIME, a drama based on the series of novels by Robert Jordan (and continued by Brandon Sanderson after Jordan’s death). The novels are set in a future society resembling that of medieval Europe three thousand years after an age of technological advancement came to a cataclysmic end. The first season will contain elements from the first three novels (there are fourteen). Moiraine Damodred (Rosamund Pike) goes in search of the Dragon Reborn (the chosen one destined to save humanity).
In the books, Cheon’s character, like Damodred, is part of Aes Sedai, an all-female organization of magicians, and is bound by the Three Oaths (to never lie, to make no lethal weapon, and to only use the ‘One Power’ as a weapon under extraordinary circumstances). Sharif was born in Arad Doman, and, according to The Wheel of Time Wiki: “Domani women wear diaphanous, form-fitting clothing considered scandalous in most countries, and have raised the practice of seduction to an art…Most Domani merchants are women, and few men can best them in a bargaining session.” THE WHEEL OF TIME began filming in The Czech Republic, Slovenia, and Croatia last September, and is expected to be on Amazon Prime Video sometime in 2021.
