LOST GIRL – Season 3 Episode 12 – SPOILERS
Lauren, upon achieving unexpected success in one of her experiments, almost says “I need to text my girlfriend”. The doctor later discovers she’s been duped by Dr. Taft (Shawn Doyle) into helping him achieve his misguided goals. Lauren seems poised to be quite the hero in the season finale (at least I hope that is the direction the writers are taking this).
Regarding Isaac’s research. A bone marrow transplant’s rewriting of someone’s DNA is not entirely impossible, but the probability of it is vanishingly small. However, if Fae organs were transplanted into a human, the organs might continue to secrete chemicals that activate dormant genes responsible for Fae powers. Dr. Lewis said in Episode #1 that the Fae are “an evolutionary branch that predates humans”. Fae and human physiologies must be quite similar, otherwise fossil skeletal remains would have major differences and human paleontologists would be aware of the existence of the Fae.
Tamsim, fully clothed (she did take off her shoes) joins Bo in a bubble bath. “Where do you get off being so perfect? she asks. Bo replies that she is not perfect, and Tamsin continues: “Yes you are. To me you are. Your eyes are both brown and blue, your heart both strong and gentle. You’re virtuous; you’re a succubus. You shouldn’t be.”
Then a wet, soapy, drunken Tamsin climbs out of the tub and departs and apparently heads directly to Lauren’s place, where Bo finds her a bit later. Tamsin, still drinking, is wearing a bathrobe and eating cereal. Bo will not be distracted from finding Lauren and Dyson, so the smitten valkyrie finally agrees to help. Then Rachel Skarsten delivers a line in a way that Bette Davis would admire: “I’m gonna get dressed,” she says, “You should change that frock. Things are going to get dirty.”
Kenzi (Ksenia Solo) gets kissed by some guy calling himself Masimo aka The Dru(id?) played by Tim Rozon. Shortly thereafter, Hale (almost) tells Kenzi he loves her, then he kisses her and slips something into her pocket.
KENZI: We all used to be friends here.
HALE: Dammit, Kenzi, you’re not my friend. You’ve never been just a friend. If anything happens to you, I won’t be any good to anyone. And right now, I need to be better than I’ve ever been.
KENZI: Why didn’t you tell me that?
The only other on-screen kisses for Kenzi that I can recall happened when she was dating Nate.
Before the inaugural ceremony, Dyson gives Hale a little box with an unknown something inside while Hale (K.C. Collins) is putting on a tux. This scene feels like Hale is getting married, and Dyson is his best man.
Trick (Rick Howland) rolls up the drawing of the winged horse seen at the end of The Ceremony, and escapes the Dál through a secret passage, but is apprehended by two “Blackwater-types” (played by Dimitri Pavlakos and George Tchortov) upon emerging from a barbershop, and is unceremoniously tossed into a car trunk.
Rob Archer is back as Bruce, the Morrigan’s hired muscle. He will be Bioman in the first 3 episodes of DEFIANCE, which will launch 15 April with a 2 hour pilot episode. Because of this, the LOST GIRL season finale will not air on SyFy until 22 April.
The song playing during Bo and Tamsin’s bubblebath scene is GRAVITY by singer/songwriter Akua. Akua will soon release her first EP titled ONE’S COMPANY.
Tim Rozon (Masimo) will play restaurant owner Michael Miller in the Lifetime movie A SISTER’S REVENGE, due to air on 27 April.
