LOST GIRL – Season 3 Episode 4 – SPOILERS
The patients at a New Age Clinic are killing themselves in fairly unusual ways. Since the victims are human, Tamsin has trouble caring. Dyson has Bo go undercover at the Clinic, posing as a relationship counselor.
BO HAS MANY SKILLS
Bo’s first (and only) counseling session is with Manny (Jamaal Grant) and Connor (Gordon S. Miller). Connor’s complaint is that they don’t have enough sex. Manny explains that they do have sex three times a week. Bo’s comment is “How do you survive?” (Bo is horny because her lover is human and can’t keep up with a succubus.) The guys’ problems are solved when Bo takes each of them by the hand and tells them to look at one another. The touch of the succubus makes their love life perk right up.
The clinic has a cat named Dr. Bob, which, in actuality, is an Indonesian Rakshasa. Rakshasa are shapeshifters who hypnotize their victims and make them act out their childhood fantasies, then feed on the emotions generated.
It turns out that when Dyson was a cub, he wanted to be a griffin. Tamsin kills the Rakshasa, which has reverted to its actual form, with a throwing blade, breaking its spell over Dyson and stopping him from trying to fly. I wonder if Zoie Palmer will let her cat watch this episode. Not sure what @Cloverblob might think.
Bo and Lauren have a heart to heart and Bo admits to using Dyson sex for purposes of healing. “I was bleeding internally!” admittedly is a pretty good excuse for infidelity. Lauren is pissed but knows she shouldn’t be, and Zoie Palmer creates a perfect facial expression for just that emotion. Lauren knows that Bo needs sex for more than healing, and that she can’t provide enough by herself. She tells Bo that “The shots [to control Bo’s libido] don’t seem to be working.” They agree to a sort of open relationship with ground rules. The first rule, and the only one thus far created by Lauren, is: “No Dyson”.
Then there’s Ambassador Begga Brynhildr (Mary Pitt). Kenzi screws up her attempt at communion with her ancestors in the Ash’s office, and she’s evidently quite important, because that made the Blood King mad. Here’s the thing. Brynhildr is a variant of Brunhilda, a very famous valkyrie from the Norse Eddas and a character in Wagner’s Ring of the Niebelung. Since Tamsin is a valkyrie her appearance may foreshadow a future storyline.
All her friends have been so preoccupied with their own problems, that Kenzi has been unable to get help with her arm, which has some sort of Fae infection. At episode’s end, Kenzi is dragged off into the shadows and that can’t be good. (In the preview of the next episode, Kenzi looks quite healthy. There is mystery here.)
The film SEX AFTER KIDS, starring (among others) Zoie Palmer and Kris Holden-Ried, had four sold out screenings at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival.
Meghan Heffern, who played Tabitha the Ixtab, stars in the horror flick HOME SWEET HOME, about a married couple who find themselves imprisoned in their home with a killer. The film will be released on DVD on 14 May.
Derek McGrath, who played Dr. Palmer (the incompetent clinic hypnotist) in Fae-de to Black was Crewman Chell in 2 episodes of STAR TREK:VOYAGER.
