Every time someone blogs about horror films, or does a list of things related to horror films, Sarah Michelle Gellar gets mentioned. The reason for this is that Gellar has done four excellent examples of that genre. The Grudge, The Grudge 2, Scream 2, and I Know What You Did Last Summer are all well worth watching. And I don’t like horror films.
But the best work Gellar has done on film is in The Air I Breathe, Suburban Girl, Cruel Intentions, and The Return (in that order). Cruel Intentions get mentioned a lot for the wrong reasons, and the other three don’t get talked about much.
Gellar has appeared in 23 films, 15 as an adult (13 if you don’t count cartoons). All of them are very watchable films except for SHE’S ALL THAT in which she had a cameo. I keep waiting to hear that she has signed onto the latest Martin Scorsese project, or something else of equivalent stature.
