Clark Backo (Shae in “I See a Darkness“) stars as Lily Green in the made-for-TV romance LOVE AT LOOK LODGE. Lily, who dreams of being a successful hotel event coordinator, is given the chance to do just that by helping a guest (Noah, played by Jonathan Keltz) plan his sister’s wedding. Lily soon realizes that Noah, a workaholic, has no real interest in the project, and is planning the wedding out of a sense of duty. Determined to make the event a success, Lily spends more and more time with Noah, encouraging him to live in the moment and be more supportive of his sister’s big day. In the process, the two begin to develop feelings for one another. A trailer is available on YouTube. LOVE AT LOOK LODGE should be released in Canada later this year.
Varun Saranga (Jeremy Chetri) is Dev Sikka and Clare McConnell (Petra in “Blood Red and Going Down“) is Dr. Camilla Rossi on NURSES, the story of five young women who work on the frontlines at a downtown Toronto hospital. (Saranga and McConnell each appear in three first season episodes and they both appear in Episode Six, titled “Risky Behaviour”, in which Naz (Sandy Sidhu) realizes her patient has a more serious condition than anyone realized and forms a special bond with the patient’s cousin. Also, an over-tired Wolf (Donald McLean Jr) struggles on the job, incurring the wrath of Damien (Tristan D Lalla). NURSES airs Fridays at 9pm on Global TV in Canada. The show, which is not yet available in the US, has been renewed for a second, ten-episode season. A trailer is available on YouTube.
Tim Rozon (Doc Holliday) is Terry in the romantic comedy BEGINNER’S LUCK. Camille Stopps and Jarrett Knowles star in this tale of a group of urban explorers who travel to a quiet lake in upstate Maine. Once there, they quickly discover that they are not alone, and that the lake harbours a deadly and long-forgotten secret. Precious Chong appears in the film as a bartender at a place called The Black Cat. Directed by Carlo Liconti and filmed two years ago in Havana, Cuba, BEGINNER’S LUCK will be released in Canada on 10 September 2021.
WYNONNA EARP Season Four (part one) will premiere on Sunday 26 July at 10pm (Eastern) on SyFy in the US and on CTV Sci-Fi in Canada. Valdez, whose name we saw carved on a wall at the end of Season Three, will likely be a big part of it. Way back in 2018, showrunner Emily Andras spelled the name V.A.L.D.E.Z. in a tweet. Make of that what you will. At last year’s Comic Con, Beau Smith described the Valdez he created for the comics as “Xena, Warrior Princess crossed with Spock from Star Trek…a thousand-year-old Mayan princess who has been with Black Badge since its creation.”. Three new additions to the cast have been announced. Martina Ortiz Luis tweeted on 13 January: “Hi Twitter, I’m currently filming in Calgary and I’M SO EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE that I’ll be joining the cast of @WynonnaEarp as new chick ‘Rachel’ this upcoming season!!! EXCITEMENTTT!!! #CrazyTimes #EarpNow #WynonnaEarp“ Andrew Phung of KIM’S CONVENIENCE will also join the cast, as will Ty Olsson.
