Evelyne Brochu (Delphine) will play the (so far unnamed) mistress of the French President in PARIS POLICE 1900, an eight episode crime drama inspired by true events. The corpse of an unidentified young woman is found in the Seine, and a young inspector (played by Jérémie Laheurte) launches an investigation and in the process uncovers a major government secret. As he investigates, he crosses the path of Brochu’s character, a courtesan who has been drawn into espionage. The show’s costume designer Anaïs Romand and set decorator Pierre Quéfféléan are both César Award winners. Directed by Julien Despaux (who directed eight episodes of BLACK SPOT), PARIS POLICE 1900 will be filming in Paris until January.
Next year, Brochu will star (along with Noémie Godin-Vigneau and Rebecca Vachon) in a production of Chekhov’s THE THREE SISTERS. Directed by René Richard Cyr, the play will run from 3 March through 28 March at Théâtre du Nouveau-Monde in Montreal.
Jess Salgueiro (Luisa in “Community of Dreadful Fear and Hate“) will be Jacinda Dos Santos (aka Shockwave) in Episode Two of JUPITER’S LEGACY, an action/adventure series based on the graphic novel of the same name by Mark Millar. Josh Duhamel and Leslie Bibb star as Sheldon and Grace Sampson, a superhero couple known as The Utopian and Lady Liberty, who gained their powers in the 1930s. They have a daughter, Chloe (Elena Kampouris), a drug addict heavily involved in charity work, and a son, Brandon (Andrew Horton), who parties a lot, and is in training to replace his father. Steve Weintraub of Collider asked Salgueiro if Shockwave is a villain, and she responded: “Yes, you could say that. In this season anyway.” Explaining why the show will probably be released late next year, she called JUPITER’S LEGACY “the biggest show that’s ever been in Toronto. It’s a big machine. People who read the comics know. There are different time periods. It’s just a big beast of a show.”
Michelle Forbes (Dr. Marian Bowles in “Things That Have Never Yet Been Done“) is Ellen Becker in TREADSTONE, a ten-episode series based on and connected to the Bourne film series, that is, at least in part, the origin story of the CIA black ops program that created Jason Bourne. Using a secret behaviour modification method, Treadstone places sleeper agents all over the world, ready to perform deadly tasks when awakened. Forbes character is described as “a savvy CIA veteran trying to balance the demands of work and family while investigating a conspiracy with international implications.” The series will premiere on the USA Network on 15 October at 10/9c and will be distributed internationally by Amazon.
