UPDATE 4 January 2016: — CHLOE & THEO can be streamed on Netflix (US)
FROM THE NORTH COMES A GENTLER KIND OF HERO. That’s the tagline for THEO AND CHLOE, a film that seems to have been made in 2010, starring Mira Sorvino (Sophie Eva McCormick DeCastro in SWANS CROSSING), Adrian Martinez (Male Nurse #1 in VERONIKA DECIDES TO DIE – more on that later), and Dakota Johnson (daughter of Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith).
It’s about an Eskimo, played by Martinez, who gets tired of sitting around watching the ice melt, and decides to take a trip and try to explain to Americans what climate change is doing to his environment.
One can tell it’s an American film, because the main character is referred to as an “Eskimo”, a term regarded as pejorative in Canada. The term is not so regarded in Alaska.
There is a trailer on IMDB, and really not much else anywhere on the web about this film. I’m not sure why this should be, but there is just nothing that I can find, and I’d kind of like to see this one.
Sorvino is also Linda in the Canadian film PERFECT SISTERS, due to be released later this year. That one I can find. It co-stars Abigail Breslin and Georgie Henley as two sisters who plot to kill their alcoholic mom.
