Josh Whedon is making a film. An announcement from Bellwether Pictures says that principal photography has been completed on MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING, a modern adaptation of the Shakespeare classic shot in black-and-white, and starring Amy Acker as Beatrice, and Alexis Denisof as Benedick. It was filmed entirely in Santa Monica, California.
Whedon said this about the film:
"“The text is to me a deconstruction of the idea of love, which is ironic, since the entire production is a love letter – to the text, to the cast, even to the house it’s shot in."
Nathan Fillion, Caleb in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, will be Dogberry.
It should begin playing at film festivals in the spring of 2012.
