Hilary Jardine (Susan) will be Tessa, in Season Three of the CBS series ZOO, which is based on the 2012 novel by James Patterson, and chronicles the fight, led by Jackson Oz, against a spreading and coordinated wave of violent animal attacks against humans across the globe. Tessa, whose job is helping refugees to safety, is also romantically involved with Oz. Tessa is further described as having a “warmth and humour about her” and as being a “true source of light in Jackson’s life”. The premiere date for Season Three has not yet been announced, but the first two seasons each began on the last Tuesday in June.
Jardine is also Laura Prescott in the TV movie WALKING THE DOG, the story of rival lawyers Kristie and Keith (played by Jennifer Finnigan and Sam Page) who battle each other in court as their dogs fall madly in love with each other. The canine affair brings the two lawyers together at every turn until they reluctantly realize it may not just be their pets who are in love. WALKING THE DOG will next air on The Hallmark Channel on Sunday, 12 March at 3pm.
Alison Wandzura (Nicole) will be Susie in episode 2.7 of THE MAGICIANS titled “Plan B”. On her website, Wandzura says: “Fellow actor Romuald Hivert and I will be throwing down some moves and getting sweaty as SUSIE and JIMMY.” The episode will air on SyFy (US) on Wednesday, 8 March, and on Showcase in Canada on 9 March.
David Cubitt (John) will be Dean Gamble in JUGGERNAUT, the tale of outlaw Saxon Gamble, who, after finding out that his mother has taken her own life, returns home and becomes obsessed with the notion that her death was not a suicide and that his older brother Dean was involved in her demise. Filmed last spring in Kamloops, B.C. (under the working title “Wrecking Ball”), JUGGERNAUT has no release date yet. — Cubitt will also be Robert in episode 6.12 of ONCE UPON A TIME, titled “Murder Most Foul”. The story somehow involves Pinocchio, and has a scheduled air date of 12 March on ABC.
Hannah Cheramy (Dylan) is Olivia in the thriller THE HOLLOW CHILD, which is about a teenager named Samantha (Jessica McLeod) who has just been placed in yet another foster home and gets tired of her newly-acquired foster sister tagging along wherever she goes. She ditches little Olivia (who wanders off into the woods and disappears). Three days later, Olivia returns as though nothing has happened, but Samantha begins to notice strange new things about the girl. Things that no one else seems to see. The film had its premiere on 9 February at the 2017 Victoria Film Festival. A trailer is available on YouTube
VAN HELSING has begun shooting Season Two. Episodes 2.1 and 2.2 will be directed by Michael Nankin who also directed the first three episodes of Season One.
