Luke Bilyk is Adam and Courtney Deelen is a dark angel in the fantasy thriller ADAM’S TESTAMENT, due to be released sometime next year. Adam is a young Toronto musician who had a good life until one day it was interrupted by the arrival of a ‘dark stranger’. His father, detective Joseph Gable, tries to save Adam’s soul from angels and demons who are disguised as humans.
Bilyk will also be John Servinis in KISS AND CRY, a romantic drama based on the story of Carley Allison, a promising 18 year old Toronto figure skater and singer who died last March from a rare form of melanoma. KISS AND CRY is due to be released sometime in 2017.
THE SUPPORT GROUP, a six-episode webseries directed by Tammy Gillis will premiere on YouTube 6 January 2015 at 2:30pm PST. It is the story of Raina (Sidney Doberstein), a waitress, who has just found out that she has an STD. Raina decides she has a sex addiction and joins a local support group. Things start to look up for her until the government cuts off funding and the Support Group shuts down. Courtney (Lily Zarif), a, Support Group regular, recruits Raina and another friend named Alexis Summers (Laura Carly Miller) to save the group. The official trailer is now on YouTube. Gillis also has an as yet unspecified role in the Hallmark movie UNLEASHING MR. DARCY, which is currently being filmed in Vancouver, and is based on the Harlequin book of the same title by Teri Wilson.
Shauna MacDonald will be Jeanne de Mohrenschildt in
episodes two and four episode three of the nine-episode HULU series 11.22.63. The story is based on a Stephen King novel in which high school teacher Jake Epping (James Franco) travels back in time in an attempt to prevent the assassination of U.S. President John F. Kennedy. The miniseries, most of which was filmed in the Toronto area, will be released on HULU 15 February 2016. Episodes of the series will be released weekly, and will be available exclusively to Hulu subscribers on either the $7.99 monthly plan with ads, or the $11.99 commercial-free option. de Mohrenschildt (née Jeanne LeGon) and her husband were friends of
Lee Harvey Oswald.
Shawn Doyle will be Owen in the film AWAY FROM EVERYWHERE, based on the award-winning novel by Chad Pelley about a struggling writer (Doyle) who begins an affair with his estranged brother’s wife (Joanne Kelly) shortly after getting out of rehab. “It’s really about the people,” said director Justin Sims, “and about the various kinds of turmoil that can happen inside of us, how that can have us take actions that we’ll come to regret but that,
ultimately, will help us find who we are.”
