& Paul Amos Rallies the Working Class in Assassins Creed Syndicate
UPDATE 16 June 2015 – Victoria Atkin has been cast as Evie Frye in ASSASSIN’S CREED SYNDICATE
The big news is the time change. Beginning 21 May, SyFy will air LOST GIRL at 10pm Thursdays immediately after WWE SMACKDOWN, which was itself moved to Thursdays last 15 January. Asked why wrestling was moved to Thursday, Michael Engleman, SyFy’s Executive VP of Marketing and Digital and Global Brand Strategy told Variety: “Quite simply, more young men watch television on Thursday night than on Fridays. In fact, that tends to be 15% higher on Thursday than Friday during primetime hours among men 18-49. [And with] the majority of broadcast programming [biased toward] female, we’re also using Thursday nights to counter program.” It is probably fair to assume that similar reasoning was behind LOST GIRL’s schedule change.
Paul Amos will voice the character of Jacob Frye for the video game ASSASSIN’S CREED SYNDICATE. Frye and his twin sister Evie arrive in London in 1868 with the goal of taking the city back from the Templars. “As gangster assassin Jacob Frye,” the game’s manufacturer asserts, “you will recruit your gang to fight for justice on behalf of the oppressed working class. Lead the underworld to take back London in a visceral adventure filled with action, intrigue and brutal combat.” Players have the option of choosing to play as either Jacob or Evie, but in either case, the goal remains the same. It is unknown who voices the Evie character.
One of Assassins Creed Syndicate‘s stunt performers, Vincent Rother, was Berserker #3 in LOST GIRL episode 2.20 (Lachlin’s Gambit), and did stunt work on three other LG episodes, the most recent being “End of a Line“.
ASSASSIN’S CREED SYNDICATE will be released on 23 October for PC, Xbox one, and Playstation 4. All game pre-orders get a bonus scenario called the “Darwin and Dickens Conspiracy Mission”. Lots of related merchandise can also be pre-ordered, such as the “hidden blade and gauntlet”, a cane sword, and a 9 inch Frye figurine.
Over the course of LOST GIRL’s four and a half seasons, Vex (Paul Amos) has been onscreen 36% more than has his boss Evony (Emmanuelle Vaugier). I know this because Little Bad Wolf has published a spreadsheet showing the amount of screentime for all LOST GIRL regular cast, major guest stars and recurring characters through the end of the first half of Season Five. Here’s more trivia gleaned from Little Bad Wolf’s statistics:
— In the first 8 episodes of Season 5, Lauren gets 12% more screen time than Dyson.
— Of Lauren’s lovers (other than Bo), Nadia (Athena Karkanis) was onscreen for 22:23 in 7 episodes, and Crystal (Ali Liebert) 18:56 in 3 episodes. Evony had much more screen time than either, but only became Lauren’s lover recently (in episode 4.12), so comparison is difficult.
— The guest star with most screen time is Anthony Lemke (Ryan Lambert) with 1 hour and 4 minutes, all in Season 2.
— Heratio vs Zee – Of the two Season 5 villains, Zee (Amanda Walsh) gets about 44% more time than does Heratio (Noam Jenkins) but she is in 6 episodes as opposed to Heratio’s 4. Heratio leads in average time per episode by 11 seconds.
