BITTEN – Season 2 Episodes 1 & 2 – SPOILERS
Shortly after Elena gruesomely kills the guy who beheaded her Season One boyfriend and sets fire to his body, the wolves are ambushed by a group of humans. One of the humans delivers this message: “We’re here for the one true cursed, Malcolm Danvers. Deliver him or die. For the undoing, The Destroyer comes.” Though the humans cannot feel pain, they are no match for the wolves and are quickly dispatched. Their purpose, it seems, was simply to deliver the message.
Still in shock over Phillip’s death, Elena has acrobatic sex with Clay to take her mind off her grief. In a motel across town, Nick has sex with banker Siobhan Devitt (Jordan Madley), with the purpose of using her to get information on who is financing Malcolm Danvers (James McGowan). Nick makes the scene interesting when he lifts Siobhan and sits her down on his face, saying: “I want to make this about you.”
Malcolm is established as a really bad dude. We get a flashback to Clay’s youth and learn that Malcolm was the one who bit him and made him a werewolf. Malcolm also ate Clay’s mother (Michelle Monteith) alive. The pregnant Rachel (Genelle Williams) was kidnapped by Malcolm, and stashed somewhere in Rochester, New York. An unknown force (probably that Destroyer person) kidnapped her from her original kidnappers, and Rachel wakes to find herself undergoing amniocentesis on a table in an unknown laboratory.
There’s a whole bunch of inter-pack political intrigue which can be mostly ignored. The witches show up and save us from more of that. Ruth and Paige Winterbourne (Tammy Isbell and Tommie-Amber Pirie) follow the wolves for a while, gathering information. They introduce themselves by shrouding Stonehaven in fog and making Nick think he’s blind and bleeding from the eyes. One possible interpretation of this is that the witches are forcing Nick to subconsciously examine the methods and actions of his pack, and his conscious reaction to this is to believe that his eyes are bleeding.
OBSERVATION: Same sex pairings have been observed in wolf packs. It is interesting that we have not seen even one overtly homosexual werewolf.
Jordan Madley (Siobhan the banker) was Sherry in the 2008 film VAMPIRE APOCALYPSE, the original title of which was BITTEN.
Stephen Lund (Wolfman Nick) will play an as yet unnamed character in the Meghan Heffern short film FLUNG, which is currently raising funds through an Indegogo page. (One of the perks for contributors is the first season of BITTEN signed by Lund.) FLUNG is the story of a young woman (Heffern) who travels to NYC to visit her ex (Lund). She thinks they’re just friends. He’s not so sure. As the weekend unfolds, she figures out that despite reawakened feelings, they can only give each other three days.
