LOST GIRL NOTES: Tim Rozon stars in ‘Unearthing’

Toronto jazz singer Christine Aziz, who was the Santiago familiy’s maid in LOST GIRL episode #30, will appear along with Megan Heffern in the 2015 film LET’S RAP.
Tim Rozon (Massimo) stars as Healy James and Chloe Rose (Julia in Lovers Apart) is Cheyenne Farren in UNEARTHING, a film that is not easy to describe. It seems that, for his entire life, Healy has been mysteriously drawn to a rather ordinary nearby field. He is also somehow connected to a woman named Fisher Hart (played by Jodi Balfour of BOMB GIRLS), who is (perhaps understandably) terrified of him. Healy feels compelled to get Fisher to that field and discover its secret. UNEARTHING began filming in Sudbury, Ontario on 10 September, and should be released sometime in 2015.
Virna Kim, the waitress who served Bo and Kenzi milkshakes in episode one of LOST GIRL, will be Anh in FOOTPRINTS, a Korean language horror short about Cahng, a wounded hunter searching for his family who are in turn being hunted by a supernatural force.
Sociable Films, of which Ali Liebert is co-founder, is crowdfunding THE HUSTLER, a contemporary dance film written by Joel Stirrock and directed by Michelle Ouelette (THE TRUE HEROINES). THE HUSTLER will be about “a young man, Quinn, who believes he is responsible for the disappearance of his younger brother, Ben. Quinn, cloaked in shame and haunted by images of Ben falls down a rabbit hole of drugs and prostitution, yet searches for hope and redemption.” AFTERPARTY, another Socialble Films production, is now available on iTunes Canada.
The next screening for the film DOWN RIVER (Ali Liebert is Molly in that film) will be at the Local Sightings Film Festival in Seattle, WA on 27 September. Liebert will also appear in STRANGE EMPIRE, a western whose heroes are women, which will premiere on CBC TV on 6 October.
Meghan Heffern (Tabitha the Ixtab in Faede to Black) is Lisa and Christine Aziz (the maid in The Girl Who Fae’d With Fire) is Leslie, in the comedy LET’S RAP, a film that describes itself this way: “A hapless brother and sister realize their gift of banter is their only useful skill, and they embark on an ill-conceived quest to get their own talk show.”. The
film also stars Kristian Bruun (Donnie Hendrix on ORPHAN BLACK).
LET’S RAP is due out sometime in 2015.
Christine Aziz‘s next appearances as a singer will be 26 September at the Epic Lounge in the Fairmont Royal York Hotel, and 27 September at the Gate 403 Bar and Grille on Roncesvalles Avenue in Toronto. Aziz is the vocalist for the Toronto jazz quartet The Jazz Forge. The rest of the group consists of Henrique Matulis on guitar, Andris Krumins on bass, and Steve Farrugia on drums.
All eleven episodes of the webseries LONG STORY SHORT, with Katie Boland and Tommime-Amber Pirie, are now available on Screenhits TV. Also, Boland now has an Official Facebook Page.
Rachel Skarsten and Emmanuelle Vaugier will be guests at the 2015 Emerald City Comicon (27-29 March in Seattle, WA).
Farah Merani (Astrid in Sleeping Beauty School) plays a character named Tamsin in the film DIRTY SINGLES, which will screen at the Vancouver International Film Festival 30 September at 7pm, and 2 October at 2pm.
