Rick Howland (Trick) and Nadia Bassett have launched a very funny YouTube webseries called BACKSEAT WITH P & J on Rick and Sunday’s Comedy Channel Each episode will have Precious Stemming (the slightly manic potential victim of A.D.H.D. or O.C.D. or all of the above) and Jake Goodchild (a happy go lucky kid with a hormonal imbalance) riding to and from school.
The game INFINITY BLADE is being made into a movie (provided it manages to meet its Kickstarter funding goal). Kris Holden-Ried (Dyson) will play the character Radriar. Infinity Blade (The Game) is set in a post-apocalyptic future, and follows a man named Siris as he tries to defeat a group of immortals known as The Deathless. Siris possesses the only weapon capable of ending an immortal’s life. During his quest, Siris discovers that he himself is immortal, and that he was once the worst Deathless of them all. The film will focus on such things as the battle of the Plains of Koroth, how Siris lost his memory, why Siris and Radriar couldn’t escape the Vault of Tears, the discovery of the quantum identity pattern, and on how the Infinity Blade itself actually works. (things not seen in the original game, its sequels, or the novels).
Both Howland and Holden-Ried will appear at Central Canada Comic Con (C4) along with Paul Amos, 31 October – 2 November at the Winnipeg Convention Center in Winnipeg. The three will repsesent both LOST GIRL and CAPTAIN CANUCK.
The Netflix series HEMLOCK GROVE added Shauna MacDonald (Dean Peretti) to its cast for its second season. MacDonald plays Dr. Galina Zhelezhnova-Burdukovskaya, a Serbian war criminal provided with a new identity by her sinister American employer for the purpose of assisting him with genetic research that requires a bit of ethical flexibility. Interestingly enough, MacDonald’s first TV appearance (February 1998) was as another character of Slavic extraction, Katya Petrenko, in episode #15 of EARTH:FINAL CONFLICT.
Katie Boland (Bianca the Seniatta) has been nominated by Toronto Film Scene Magazine for Best Emerging Actress in their annual readers’ poll. Others nominated in that category are Cara Gee, Gabrielle Marion-Rivard, and Kawennahere Devery Jacobs.
